Designed by naval architect Olivier Racoupeau and built by the Catana Group, the Bali Catspace takes a completely fresh approach to outdoor living compared to traditional 40-foot catamarans like the Lagoon 40 or Fountaine Pajot Isla 40. Instead of a mesh trampoline net at the front, Bali extended the rigid fiberglass deck all the way to the bows. This creates a massive forward cockpit with deep sunbeds and a table where your whole group can enjoy sunset drinks completely dry and away from sea spray.
The most famous feature on deck is the tilting "Bali Door" at the back of the saloon. Instead of small sliding doors separating the inside from the outside, the entire rear wall lifts up into the ceiling on hydraulic struts like a garage door. In seconds, the indoor saloon and aft cockpit merge into one giant, single-level patio. If the evening gets breezy at anchor, you can simply lower the door to create a cozy, enclosed living room.
Up top, Bali managed to fit a true flybridge onto a 40-foot hull. The elevated helm station gives the skipper an unobstructed 360-degree view of all four corners of the boat, which makes backing into tight Greek or Croatian marinas much less stressful. Right next to the wheel, there is a wide double sunbed so your crew can hang out and keep the skipper company under the shade of the Bimini top.
Under sail, the Bali Catspace is built for relaxed, easy handling. It comes with a self-tacking jib as standard, meaning tacking is as simple as turning the wheel without touching a winch. In a steady 15 to 18-knot breeze, she comfortably cruises at 7 to 8 knots, while the extra volume in the solid bows helps reduce pitching in choppy afternoon seas.
The interior layout of the Bali Catspace (styled by Lasta Design) feels more like a floating apartment than a 40-foot boat. At the front of the saloon, you will find a well-equipped L-shaped galley on the port side, alongside an outboard-facing nav station. The large forward windshield also tilts open, allowing fresh sea breeze to blow right through the saloon and out the open back door.
One interior feature that charter guests always love is the full-size 265-liter domestic fridge and freezer. While most 40-foot catamarans have small under-counter boat fridges, the Bali Catspace gives you enough cold storage to stock fresh food, ice, and drinks for eight to ten people for several days without visiting a supermarket every morning.
In charter fleets, you will most commonly find the 4-cabin, 4-head layout (though a 3-cabin Owner's version with a full-hull master suite is also available). What makes the Bali Catspace cabins stand out against competitors like the Lagoon 42 and Lagoon 40 is the design of the forward bedrooms. Instead of squeezing narrow V-berths into the pointy front of the hulls, the double beds are placed transversely (sideways, facing the hull windows). This gives you comfortable walk-around space and even leaves room for a pull-out single berth in the front cabins, bringing total sleeping capacity up to 10 guests. Every cabin has its own private en-suite bathroom and shower for maximum privacy.
Because the Bali Catspace is a relatively recent model in global charter fleets, most available units are packed with modern extras. With solar panels, an inverter, optional generator and air conditioning, electric toilets, Bluetooth sound systems in the saloon and flybridge, and a tender dinghy with an outboard engine, a Bali Catspace charter has everything you need for a carefree luxury sailing yacht charter. If your group requires specific equipment like full air conditioning or a watermaker, talk to your Yacht4Less Charter Consultant so we can match you with the exact boat specification that fits your needs!
Aside from the standard onboard equipment, Yacht4Less can arrange stand-up paddleboards (SUPs), snorkeling gear, safety nets for children, advance yacht provisioning, and airport transfers right to your marina.
You can charter the Bali Catspace bareboat if you hold a valid sailing license, or book her with a professional skipper or hostess. Having a local skipper onboard lets you sit back on the flybridge sunbeds and discover hidden bays without worrying about anchoring or docking.
The Bali Catspace is widely available for charter across the best sailing destinations in the Mediterranean, as well as the Caribbean and Bahamas. Two of our most popular starting points are Greece (departing from Alimos Marina in Athens, Lavrion, or Lefkas in the Ionian) and Croatia (departing from Split, Trogir, or Zadar).
If you choose to sail from Athens, Alimos Marina is located just 30 km from Athens International Airport, giving you direct access to both the sheltered Saronic Gulf islands (such as Hydra, Poros, and Spetses) and the famous Cyclades. Similarly, in Croatia, Split Airport is only 15 to 20 minutes away from the main charter marinas in Trogir and Kastela, making embarkation day quick and easy for families and international travelers flying in from the UK, the USA, or across Europe.
Because the Bali Catspace sits right on the 40-foot mark, you get the interior volume of a 42 to 44-foot catamaran while paying 40-foot charter rates and marina mooring fees. Weekly prices vary depending on the time of year you charter. Between October and May, the low season, the price for a Bali Catspace catamaran charter starts at around €2.200 to €5.500 per week. In the shoulder months of May-June and September, you can expect to pay around €3.200 to €7.100. In peak high season (July and August), weekly charter prices range from €3.800 to €7.500. Of course, these base rates do not include exclusive Yacht4Less discounts.*

The yachting community's most-asked questions, answered by our experts.
Many Bali Catspace catamarans built for Mediterranean and Caribbean charter fleets come equipped with air conditioning and a generator (or large solar/inverter setups), though on some base models it is optional. Always check the specific yacht's inventory list with your broker before booking if AC is a must for your group.
A standard 4-cabin charter Bali Catspace comfortably sleeps 8 guests in four double cabins. An owner's version would feature 3 cabins for up to 6 guests.
Yes, you can charter the Bali Catspace bareboat as long as you hold a valid sailing license (such as an ICC, RYA Day Skipper, or ASA 104) and have a co-skipper or crew member with basic sailing experience (different rules apply per country - always check with your charter broker). Because it is right at 40 feet (12.33m), it is very manageable for amateur skippers transitioning from monohulls to catamarans.
Bali Catamarans replaces the traditional bow net with a rigid fiberglass deck to increase structural stiffness, add buoyancy in the bows, and create a safe, dry forward lounge area with sunbeds and a table.
Compared to the Lagoon 40, the Bali Catspace offers roughly 20% more usable living space thanks to its solid foredeck lounge, tilting garage door, and 265L full-size fridge. Compared to the larger Lagoon 42, the Lagoon 42 is two feet longer and offers a more traditional sailing feel in heavy seas, but the 40-foot Bali Catspace matches its social deck space for a lower weekly charter cost.
