Starting from Kos Marina on the island of Kos in Greece, this sailboat provides a practical base for navigating the waters of the Dodecanese archipelago. Built in 2020 by Jeanneau, the Sun Odyssey 490 Jouir has a length overall of 14.42 m (47 ft) and a draft of 2.24 m (7 ft). The interior layout features 4 cabins and 4 heads, accommodating a maximum of up to 10 people on board. For meal preparation during the voyage, the galley is equipped with an oven, while onboard solar panels support battery health at anchor to extend time between port calls. In addition, Jouir includes snorkeling equipment for exploring coastal anchorages and swimming spots.
Mechanical and sailing systems comprise a full batten mainsail, two steering wheels, and a bow thruster for controlled marina maneuvers. Navigation is aided by an autopilot, a VHF radio, and navigation charts with a nautical guide. Auxiliary power is delivered by an 80 HP engine, supported by a 240 L fuel tank and a 615 L water tank, alongside an outboard motor. She is operated and managed by the charter company Athenian Yachts.
